Kristian Hauser Villegas
Kristian Hauser Villegas is an Associate Professor at the National Institute of Physics (NIP), University of the Philippines Diliman. He is previously a postdoctoral fellow at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, from 2019 to 2022, and at Institute for Basic Science (IBS) in Daejeon, South Korea, from 2017-2019. At IBS, he worked on light-matter coupling and electronic transport studies on various hybrid Bose-Fermi systems. At NTU, he started working on the interplay of band quantum geometry and collective modes in superconductors.
He continues working on this topic at NIP. Apart from this, his other research interests include quantum spin liquids, phonons in strongly correlated electronic environment, analogue gravity in condensed matter systems, topology and geometry of systems with fractional dispersions, and AdS/CFT applications to condensed matter physics. He obtained his Doctorate and Master’s degree at the University of the Philippines Diliman.
