Abstract: Measurement of gravitational waves from binary mergers of black holes or neutron stars is an important topic in cosmology and astrophysics. One of the dominant limitations on sensitivity of gravitational wave detectors is put by quantum noise of the laser and photodetector. CHRONOS experiment aims to break the standard quantum limit by adopting Sagnac speed-meter topology for detection of gravitational waves in sub-Hz frequency from heavier binary black holes. In the presentation, I introduce the design of CHRONOS and the current status of its Research & Development.
