The National Institute of Physics (NIP) held a Recognition Day last June 23, 2018 at the NIP Auditorium in UP Diliman, Quezon City. The annual event is being held in recognition of the travails and triumphs of the graduating class, their parents, teachers and research mentors. This yearโs guest of honor was DOST Secretary Fortunato T. dela Peรฑa. In his message, Secretary dela Peรฑa acknowledged the significant contributions of NIP in advancing knowledge and scientific leadership. The Secretary encouraged NIP to extend further support to the other educational institutions of higher learning for accelerated manpower development in the country. Secretary dela Peรฑa posed a challenge to the members of Class 2018 to served the country and help mitigate brain drain. The NIP Class of 2018 is comprised 50 BS (BS Physics: 20; BS Applied Physics: 30), 16 MS Physics, and 3 PhD Physics graduates.
